Abstract

Efficient broadcasting schemes in mobile ad hoc networks are required to perform well in both static and highly mobile environment. Two classes of ad hoc broadcasting schemes are discussed and the impact of mobility on these schemes is analyzed. We use a notion of relative stability level in describing the robustness of the links between a node and its neighbors. Based on the analysis of three moving cases in these schemes, we propose a mobility sensitive mechanism which can be implemented with or without location information.
