Abstract

A zero-infrastructure solution for intelligent transportation systems was proposed. The biggest technical challenge in implementing the proposed system was scalability. It is specially important to control the bandwidth consumption because communication may not be free. TrafficCom connects to GPS unit, static database of road network, and wireless communication link, and will connect and disseminate traffic information.
