Abstract

This article covers various methods of bowel and bladder management that can be used with children who are physically delayed. Basic bowel and bladder neurophysiology introduces the article. Diet, current methods of bowel and bladder training, and nursing implications are discussed. A bowel and bladder readiness assessment tool, developed by the author, is included.
