Abstract
A production scheduling program with significant changeover costs is considered. This entails the determination of a step production function where the production levels and decision time are unknown. The production scheduling problem is formulated as an optimal control problem and amended to a k-stage discrete control problem. Extensions to multi-products, production scheduling on one machine and uncertain demand are then considered.
