Proximity electron tunnelling spectroscopy of Ta: Inapplicability of an 'empirical model'

Abstract

Proximity electron tunnelling spectroscopy (PETS) is applied to Ta, yielding results in agreement with those obtained by conventional tunnelling. The inapplicability of a recent 'empirical model' to such clean NS proximity junctions is commented upon.
