    Abstract

We study non-perturbative high energy fermion number violating transition amplitudes in a quantum mechanical model containing interacting bosonic and fermionic degrees of freedom. We find that these transition amplitudes are always exponentially suppressed by at least one half of the low energy suppression factor exp (-S0/h {combining short solidus overlay}). We argue that this result is valid for the field theoretical case as well.
