Abstract

The authors of this paper seek to analyze the pace and determinants of worker and job relocation in the early years of market transition in the Czech Republic. They provide estimates of the time evolution of worker and job reallocation and carry out a multivariate duration analysis of job destruction. Comparing their own results to those of other Central and East European countries, the authors demonstrate why economic transition in the Czech Republic has been relatively smooth.
