    Abstract

The temperature-magnetic field phase diagram is presented for (TMTSF) 2ClO4 from magnetization and magnetotransport measurements for 0.5<T<10K and B<30T. It is shown that the threshold line for the previously established field-induced spin density wave transitions below 10T, and the critical line for the newly discovered very high field transition near 27T, are in fact the same. This implies that the (H-T) phase diagram is reentrant, with the same 'metallic' phase occurring at low and high field at low temperatures. It is also shown that the observed magnetization is related to the sign of the critical line slope, π{variant}T/π{variant}H, in agreement with thermodynamic considerations.
