Abstract

Intense terahertz pulses were focused on cultured human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) using newly developed apparatus. The THz irradiation experiments and gene analysis revealed that the genes in the hiPSCs that were affected by THz irradiation were regulated zinc finger proteins. We also found that the housekeeping power and pluripotency were unaffected by intense THz pulses while several genes were up- and down-regulated.
