Retraction notice to “Synthesis of Sr_0.5Ba_0.5Nb₂O₆ by citrate gel method” [Mater. Chem. Phys. 94(1) (2005) 34–36, (S0254058405002403), (10.1016/j.matchemphys.2005.04.003)]

The article duplicates significant parts of a paper that had already appeared in Materials Letters, Volume 59, Issues 8–9, 2005, Pages 1053–1055, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.matlet.2004.12.003. One of the conditions of submission of a paper for publication is that authors declare explicitly that the paper has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Re-use of any data should be appropriately cited. As such this article represents a misuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
