Abstract

The communication briefly describe the most effective technologies available in the market for background processes to storage (capture and transport of CO2), as well as the more secure solutions for storage itself and in particular for the geological storage in carboniferous formations. Methodologies used for risk analysis are described with particular emphasis in Bayesian Networks. Their fundaments are presented and some applications concerning the Risk Assessment of CO2 injection processes and storage in carboniferous formations and contamination of aquifers by CO2 are presented and analyzed. Finally, based on the applications of Bayesian Networks several conclusions were made.
