N2 - In the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine forum, members bring forth their insights regarding biometric security, privacy, and multibiometric and fusion techniques. The technologies available are anatomical recognition including fingerprint, face, iris, hand geometry, ear palmprint and behavioral such as signature, gait, and keystroke dynamics. Biometrics will play an integral part of everyday lives specially in the field of security, military, and law enforcement. Biometric systems offer greater security and convenience than traditional methods of personal recognition, gives users greater convenience while maintaining accuracy and ensures that the user is present at the point and time of recognition. It is hoped that biometrics would offer a wider application that may include personal biometric information systems for mobile Web-enabled cell phones, and keyless access to a given space.
