Abstract
Design guidelines for a controller of a half-bridge dc-dc converter employed in active power factor correction circuits are developed. An average modeling method is used to derive control rules for the current shaping stage. Some practical approximations allow to significantly simplify the control scheme and omit sensing of input voltage.
