Abstract

We prove a Fredholm criterion for singular integral operators with piecewise continuous coefficients on L_p spaces with the weight ρ{variant} satisfying the Hunt-Muckenhoupt-Wheeden condition. The proof is based on the case of power weight ρ{variant}(t) = Π |t - t_j|^βj that was investigated by Gohberg and Krupnik more than 20 years ago.
