Soft handoff analysis of CDMA systems using novel switched-beam smart antennas with polarization diversity

Abstract

A novel switched-beam structure is proposed to provide both beam and polarization diversities. Comparing to the conventional switched-beam structure, a 2.2 dB gain in signal to interference ratio is derived from soft handoff simulations in cellular CDMA systems.
