Abstract

Written as three separate letters to Black scholars, this chapter presents how Toni Morrison’s notion of the white gaze shifted the author’s conceptualizations of Blackness, and informs their current thinking around the possibilities of research grounded in the Black gaze to reduce the inequalities Black youth and their communities face.
