Abstract

The challenges facing America's children are complex and interwoven. The Center has a unique and exciting opportunity to support child health research by providing a comprehensive approach to understanding the physical, mental, and social health of children. The initial years of operation of the Center have brought answers to certain questions, magnified uncertainties in other arenas, clarified the potential positive impact that the Center has the opportunity of creating, and posed some questions that remain to be solved. Above all else, however, remains the exciting opportunity of playing a positive role in facilitating the health and functioning of all of our children.
