Abstract
Comments on the article by A. W. Astington and D. R. Olson (see record 1996-13978-001) regarding children's conception of mind. The authors agree with Astington and Olson in arguing that unless researchers develop theoretical perspectives that do not privilege either the child who conceptualizes or the child actively participates in social interactions, researchers cannot hope to understand the development of children's theories of mind.
