    Abstract

The design and operation of a negative hyperon beam is described. Fluxes of 200 Σ- and 2 Ξ- per 1.5 × 1011 interacting protons are delivered to a double magnetic spectrometer where decay products are analyzed. Hyperons are identified by kinematic fitting of their decays.
