Abstract

The muon-hadron detector of EAS-TOP is a 270 m2 calorimeter constructed inside the air shower array on the top of the underground Gran Sasso Laboratory (Italy). The general layout of the detector and the performances of the active part (streamer and proportional chambers) are presented.
