Abstract
The setting up of an arithmetic expression to generate as many consecutive integers as possible using digit 4 alone at most four times, was discussed. The expression may include operators such as addition, substraction, multiplication, division, square root, exponentiation, concatenation, decimal 0.4, decimal repeat, factorial and parentheses. Expressions for the numbers 1 through 10 under above constraints could be derived. Expressions for 11 to 40 using at most four 4s per integer were found.
