Abstract

The Rohatgi Honorary Symposium on Solidification Processing of Metal-Matrix Composites was organized as a part of the 2006 TMS Annual Meeting to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Pradeep Rohatgi's initial discovery as well as his continued efforts over the last four decades. The symposium was divided into six sessions, which covered five broad fields: Overview of Developments in MMCs; Processing and Microstructure; Properties; Modeling and Nanocomposites; and Advanced Applications. The final session featured a group discussion on "Future Directions in Metal-Matrix Composites".
