Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to consider and estimate the utility of manufacturing cooperatives for members of the cooperative. Using a simple dynamic model, special issues which have contributed to the successes and failures of manufacturing cooperatives are outlined and their implications drawn. In particular, relative wage rates (in and out of the cooperative), income uncertainty, employment security, manufacturing cooperative's capitalization and size, etc. are discussed within the confines of the model.
