Abstract

We consider the problem of time-varying orthonormal tilings of the time-frequency plane. A very elegant way of obtaining such tillings is a by using time-varying modulated lapped transforms. We offer ways of constructing these, by using either boundary or overlapping modulated lapped transforms. The advantage of using modulated lapped transforms is that all the filters, both transitions and within decompositions, are obtained by modulation.
