Abstract

Analysed are measurements taken from the wake of a circular cylinder, Reynolds numbers 30-10 SUP 4. They show a similarity with low dimensional chaotic dynamical systems. They suggest that the dimensions of the attractor are no more than 20 even at the moderately high Reynolds number of 10 SUP 4. (R.I.H.)
