Abstract

A substantially improved description of published electron-tunneling spectra from Nb3Sn is obtained by taking account of a probable surface proximity layer in the junctions studied. The results satisfactorily describe the superconducting properties of Nb3Sn within the conventional framework of strong electron-phonon coupling theory, with =1.8± 0.15, 1/4 *=0.16±0.03.
