Abstract

The expected shifts DELTA plus or minus H D-BAR k//F multiplied by (times) V//s of the gap edge by supercurrent flow (velocity V//s) have never been directly observed by tunneling, since typical geometries yield k multiplied by (times) V//s equals 0. We have observed the sharp onset of a related 'Doppler-broadening' of the gap N//T(E) at the vortex nucleation transition B// parallel greater than equivalent to B//c//1 in Nb tunnel junctions. We suggest a simple clean-limit model for this effect.
