Two conductor-backed configurations of slotline or coplanar waveguide for elimination or suppression of the power-leakage problem

Abstract

Two conductor-backed configurations of slotline or coplanar waveguide, i) coupled underneath to a finite-width dielectric-guide structure, and ii) with shorting pins, are analyzed. These geometries can eliminate or suppress the unwanted parallel-plate leakage problem commonly encountered in conductor-backed geometries. A rigorous analysis of the leakage-suppression in these conductor-backed geometries is outlined, with discussion of selected demonstrative results.
