Abstract

Up-conversion luminescence in dye-doped crystals of potassium hydrogen phthale (KAP) was investigated. Upon irradiation close to the phase-matching direction with 800 nm light, a sharp 400 nm band was observed in addition to the dye luminescence maximum at 544 nm. The luminescence lifetime of rhodamine 110 in KAP was measured to be 3.7±0.2 ns.
