Abstract
A video quality metric called spatiotemporal CIELAB (ST-CIELAB) is introduced. ST-CIELAB is based on a spatial, temporal, and chromatic model of human contrast sensitivity. The ST-CIELAB metric is tested by performing psychophysics experiments with MPEG video sequences. These experiments show how well ST-CIELAB ratings correlate with subjective ratings.
