Abstract

A polyisocyanate with an oxyethylene group in the side chain is synthesized. It is found that the polymer is tacky and soluble in a variety of solvents including water in which it turns soapy, indicating the interaction of hydrophotic and hydrophilic portions of the side chain. The UV characteristics of this polyisocynate are affected largely by solvent on the helical structure.
